About

Sound Behavioral Health is co-led by two experienced clinicians, trainers, and New York State accredited social work continuing education providers, Brian Mundy and Matt Wofsy.

We are committed to translating the best that research has to offer real world practice in a way that promotes learning, clinical precision, and flexibility. We aim to support the behavioral health community with training, consulting, and dialog designed to empower clinicians and service providers to deliver compassionate evidence-based care. We are committed to staying abreast with clinical science and utilizing our combined 30 years of experience to provide high quality, state of the art clinical training and consultation.

Sound Behavioral Health began when Matt and Brian were charged with disseminating evidence-based practices such as motivational interviewing, critical time intervention, trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, and others, across one of the largest social service agencies in New York City. Since then, we have traveled the country providing trainings and sharing their views on what it takes to be evidence-informed. We have co-authored a book Therapy in the Real World, with Nancy Boyd-Franklin and Elizabeth Cleek, published on Guilford Press in Spring 2013, that documents their experiences and knowledge gained on this never-ending quest to link real live practice with research settings.
